March 08 2013  Latest iOS, iDevice and iTunes Support

Hi Everyone,
iFuntastic 6.6.5 b019 is available - a free upgrade from the previous version

Added support for iOS 6.0.2, 6.1.1, 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 (not out yet) and iTunes 11.

iFuntastic seems to have stopped working on OSX 10.4 Tiger for devices with iOS 6 and up installed. Best approach is to try - if your device is identified correctly in the upper left corner, then everything is in order.

Regards,
Chris

March 22 2011  Latest iOS Support

Hi Everyone,
iFuntastic 6.6.5 b011 is available - a free upgrade from the previous version

Added support for iOS versions 4.2.6, 4.3 and 4.3.1 (apparently coming soon. A jailbreak for iOS 4.3+ is not yet available.)

As mentioned before, with the explosion of different device, firmware, iTunes and OS X configurations it has become impossible for me to thoroughly test iFuntastic before releasing a new version. This is very unsatisfying and I don't take it lightly, but I have no other choice. Should you notice any problems, then please report them. Thank you for your help! And, of course, if iFuntastic does not meet your needs, you can request a refund.

Regards,
Chris

November 24 2010  Latest iOS Support

Hi Everyone,
iFuntastic 6.6.5 b010 is available - a free upgrade from the previous version

Added support for iOS 4.2.1 (tested on the iPad.)
The caveats dated Oct 15 (below) still apply :-(

A Note on 'Tethered' Jailbreaks and Installing iFuntastic Support
The latest jailbreak for newer devices is a 'tethered' one. This essentially means you have to re-jailbreak your device every time it reboots. You do this by running redsnow for the reboot and it's a bit of an inconvenience. When you install iFuntastic Support for iFuntastic's extra capabilities, you are asked to restart the device. You can push 'Stop' at that time and switch to redsnow for the reboot. Afterwards you can perform additional (optional) installations manually as desired.

Regards,
Chris

October 15 2010  Latest iOS Support

Hi Everyone,
iFuntastic 6.6.5 b009 is available - a free upgrade from the previous version

Added support for iOS 4.1.
I have been reluctant to release this version since it has not been tested for 4.1 or with a retina display. I consider it quite unacceptable to have users do the testing for me; however, I simply cannot afford to buy new iDevices at the rate that Apple are releasing them. Please accept my apologies and bear with me.
iFuntastic has been stable for quite a while and the changes from 4.0 to 4.1 are minor. The File Manager will work. The list of preconfigured file locations may have inaccuracies and Widgetation (which depends on the screen dimensions) may have problems. If you notice anything of that kind or run into other problems, I would appreciate it if you'd let me know by sending a bug report or a note with one of the options in iFuntastic's Help menu.
iFuntastic will not harm your device and if it does not meet your expectations, you can always request a refund.

Regards,
Chris

July 22 2010  Latest iOS Support

Hi Everyone,
iFuntastic 6.6.5 b007 is available - a free upgrade from the previous version

Added support for iOS4, the firmware. iPhone 4, the device, has not been tested yet - the Widgetation page may have issues with the increased size of the retina display.

The display order (now with folders) and the application info files (for icons and names) have gotten very complex, and the potential number of applications very large. Because of that, and since iTunes now supports rearranging of applications, iFuntastic's Home Screen Layout page has been retired. Wallpaper images and Home Screen Movies can now be set through the templates mechanism on the WinterBoard Themes page. There, you will also find a couple of new additions: you can add gap applications (with invisible icons) to add some space between apps. You can also add an Hourly Chime to your WinterBoard themes which will do just that (unfortunately not after the phone has been asleep for a while. It appears to go into an even deeper sleep after a certain amount of time.)

Thank you for submitting bug reports when necessary, and thank you for your support!

Regards,
Chris

June 17 2010  iPad Support

Hi Everyone,
iFuntastic 6.6.5 b005 is available - a free upgrade from the previous version

Well, that took a while. It's getting harder to keep up with Apple... and the next iOS is already around the corner.

The iPad wreaked some havoc on iFuntastic due to the large screen and the ever-changing orientation thereof. Please read more about iPad specifics on Om Man iPad Me Hum...

While dealing with the iPad issues I reworked the Widgetation page. It's much more robust with regard to maintaining future compatibility, but existing themes using widgets are not compatible anymore - the changes are just too extensive. I am very sorry about that, but I hope the improvements will make it worth your while: a new animatable and programmable sprite widget - the glory of HTML5 at your fingertips. Please check out the examples.

Documentation is lagging behind as usual; I'm trying!

As always, please report problems so I can take care of them. Thank you, and thank you for your support!

Regards,
Chris
